Cleaning radiators
Cleaning radiators and heating grilles is essential, especially because dust buildup can cause less efficient heat distribution and unhealthy air circulation. Here are some practical steps:
-
Turn off the heating and let it cool down â This prevents the burning of dust and ensures safe work.
-
Vacuum the outside and crevices â Use a narrow brush attachment to remove dust and dirt from the gaps. Remove as much as possible from the front and sides.
-
Use a radiator brush â For thorough cleaning, you can use a long, flexible radiator brush to remove dust and dirt between and behind the radiator. This is especially useful for panel radiators.
-
Wipe with a damp cloth â Wipe down the outside of the radiator with a slightly damp cloth to remove remaining dirt.
-
Use an air compressor or hairdryer for hard-to-reach spots â For stubborn dust, you can use a hairdryer or air compressor to blow dust out of the gaps. Place a cloth behind it to catch the dust.
By following these steps, your radiators and grilles will stay clean and distribute heat more efficiently!
